A few years ago, I purchased a Samsung computer monitor. It was advertised on the box as having an HDMI input. There was nothing on the box that implied any restrictions on the HDMI input.

Although I was not going to use the HMDI input at that time, I wanted to use it in the future. I few months later, I tried to connect a computer to the HDMI input of the monitor. Nothing that I did would make it work.

I went back to the instruction manual (which of course was inside the box and unavailable until after purchase). It turned out that, although the computer monitor had an HDMI input, that input would not work with computers, only other devices such as DVD players. So, the COMPUTER monitor was not HDMI-capable with a computer!

Needless to say, I’ve never since bought a Samsung product . . . and I never will!

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
